About sortmypay

sortmypay is a free set of UK money and employment calculators. The goal is simple: give people clear, accurate answers to the everyday questions that official sources often make confusing — how much you'll take home after tax, what redundancy you're owed, how much holiday you've earned, or what a pay rise really means once tax and National Insurance are taken out.

Accuracy is the whole point

Every calculator is built on the official rates and rules for the current tax year, checked against primary sources such as GOV.UK, mygov.scot, HMRC and the House of Commons Library. Tax thresholds, National Insurance rates, statutory pay figures and the like change every April, and we update the calculators when they do. Where a figure is an estimate or a rule of thumb, we say so.

What we cover

The site includes calculators for take-home pay (England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland), statutory redundancy pay, holiday entitlement, statutory notice periods, maternity and paternity pay, dividend tax for company directors, and mortgage overpayments — with more added over time.

Free to use

The calculators are free and always will be. The site is supported by advertising, which is what allows us to keep it free, accurate and up to date without charging or asking you to sign up.
